Many Australian artists refer to themselves as Americana or Alt Country these days, but very few deliver the real thing as well as Georgia State Line. Hailing from Melbourne but sounding like Texas or Tennessee, this band represents the true essence of today’s country music. - Bill Chambers

Georgia State Line are an alt-country collective hailing from various parts of small town Australia. Full of twang loving enthusiasts and fronted by singer-songwriter, Georgia Delves, their music is a blend of old-time country entwined with today’s Americana sound.

Delves cites taking her inspiration from the classics of Linda Ronstandt and current exponents within the Nashville singer-songwriter scene- Kelsey Waldon and Country Marie Andrews, centring her writing on the bittersweet balancing act between growing up and staying young. Backed by a band, rich in the swells of pedal steel and guitar work reminiscent of Dave Rawlings, comes the ingredients for something extra special.

Since arriving on the scene not so long ago, the group have enjoyed notable performances alongside Australian country music icon, Bill Chambers at the Tamworth Country Music Festival 2017, National Folk Festival 2017 and has garnered nods from Paul Gough (ABC Radio National). Most recently their latest offering, debut EP ‘Heaven Knows’ saw a warm reception for the clan, quickly labelling them as “one of Australia’s best up-and-coming” acts. (Art News Portal)
